Make a concept SFX video with Claude

I made a launch concept for a crypto app with Claude Opus 5.5 and no motion design skills. These are the two prompts I'd use to do it again, with a few extra touches built in so your first version comes out cleaner.

I saw a motion designer's concept videos on my timeline and wanted one for a crypto app. I gave Claude his media page, asked it to study his pacing, cuts, effects and rhythm, and turn it into a skill. The first version took about 30 minutes.

After a few rounds of notes on the song, the cover and the sound balance, I had a 13 second video at 60 fps where every move lands on its own sound effect. The whole process is in the tutorial video, and I've added a few final touches to these prompts so you get there faster.

How to use it

  1. Pick the creator whose concept videos you like and copy their profile or media link.
  2. No creator in mind? Browse Prompt Motion, find a video you like and copy the prompt behind it.
  3. Pick a song if you want one, and write down what your app does and what you want to show.
  4. Open Claude Code in a new, empty folder and paste the first prompt to build the skill.
  5. Paste the second prompt with your app details to make the video.
  6. Check the still frames and the sound cue list, give notes the way you would to an editor, then let it render.
1. Build the concept SFX skill from a creator you like
Study a creator's concept SFX videos and turn their style into a reusable skill for me.

THE CREATOR
Profile or media page: [INSERT LINK]
If you can't open their videos, tell me and I'll download a few and give you the files. Never pretend to have watched something.

1. GET SET UP
Install Remotion's official skills (npx skills add remotion-dev/skills) and read them. Make sure ffmpeg and Python work. Tell me what you could and couldn't install.

2. STUDY THE VIDEOS
Pick 8 to 12 of their concept videos, the wordless kind where every move lands on its own sound. For each one, measure with code instead of guessing:
- length, frame rate, canvas size and number of hard cuts
- how the scenes change when there is no cut (zooming through, blurs, colour flips)
- how long each word or line takes to appear, how long it stays on screen and how it settles when it lands
- the spacing between sound hits inside a burst, and how long the quiet holds between bursts last
- loudness, whether there is music, and how loud the song sits against the effects
Make a contact sheet with a frame every half second, plus close frames at every big moment, and base every claim on those frames.

3. NAME THE TECHNIQUES
Write down each technique with a name, what it looks like, the sound that goes with it and the timing: how words appear, how cards fly in, cursor clicks, how a scene dives into the next, swapping text lines, the logo reveal and the ending. Note the colours, fonts and the one accent colour.

4. LEARN, DON'T COPY
Don't reuse their products, words, logos or end card. The skill should be able to make videos for any app.

5. PACKAGE THE SKILL
Create a concept-sfx skill in .claude/skills with:
- SKILL.md: the techniques, the measured timings, a step-by-step build and the rules below
- a Remotion starter project with the scenes and helpers the techniques need
- a script that makes every sound effect from scratch, so there is nothing to license
- a mixing script that balances a song against the effects by measurement

Put these rules in SKILL.md:
- Text is never rushed. Each word or line takes about 0.3 to 0.5 seconds to come in, settles with a soft, slow bounce, and stays readable for at least a second.
- A sound goes only where something visibly moves, on the exact frame. A sound with no move is removed.
- Frame 0 is always a finished cover.
- Every video is 60 fps.

Then make a 5 second test with the skill and show me still frames next to the creator's frames, so I can see whether it holds up.
2. Make the video for your app
Use the concept-sfx skill to make a concept video for my app.

THE APP
Name: [INSERT, or use a placeholder until I name it]
What it does: [INSERT]
The moments to show: [INSERT, e.g. alerts, chart patterns, price moving, a price dump, candlestick patterns]
Length: 10 to 15 seconds
Format: [horizontal 1920x1080 for X, vertical 1080x1920 for Instagram and TikTok, or both]
Song: [PATH TO A SONG OR VIDEO, or "sound effects only"]

1. PLAN IT
Plan the story in 6 to 9 beats: a hook, the app doing its main job, one dramatic moment, a second feature, a line that keeps swapping, the logo, the ending. Show me the plan first.

2. TEXT AND PACING
- Don't rush the text. Each word or line takes about 0.3 to 0.5 seconds to come in, with a soft, slow bounce as it settles, and stays on screen long enough to read, at least a second. If someone can't read it on the first watch, it's too fast.
- Let each finished frame hold for half a second to a second before the next move.
- Every number on screen has to agree with the others, like the alert price and the last candle on the chart.

3. SOUND EFFECTS
- Put a sound only where something visibly moves, on the exact frame it starts. If a sound has no move, remove it.
- Fewer, cleaner sounds beat a sound on everything. Don't stack two sounds on the same frame unless the moment needs it.
- Use different sounds for different moves: soft keys for text, pops for things landing, clicks for the cursor, a whoosh for big moves, a deep hit for the logo.
- Give me a list of every sound cue with its time and the move it belongs to, so I can cut any that feel off.

4. COVER
Make a cover image. Frame 0 of the video must be the finished cover, because that is what shows as the thumbnail. Also export it as a PNG. Once I approve a cover, keep it in every later version unless I ask for a new one.

5. IF I GIVE YOU A SONG
- Extract the audio and map its energy and beats.
- Use the part with the most energy, unless I say otherwise. Never start on a loud hit or in the middle of a phrase. Start just before a drop and put the drop on a big visual moment.
- Line the big moves up with real kicks in the song, not just a tempo grid.
- Balance by measuring, not guessing: the song sits about 5 dB above the effects on average, the effects stay at full level and the song doesn't dip under them. Tell me the levels you measured.
- Keep a sound-effects-only version as a backup.

6. RENDER
Always 60 fps at high quality. Show me still frames before the full render. After each round of notes, change only what I asked for. Put the files in their own folder and tell me where they are.

Final touches

These are all in the prompts, but they're worth checking on your own video before you post.

  • Ask for a cover image, and make frame 0 the finished cover so it shows as the thumbnail.
  • Decide on horizontal or vertical before it starts. X is horizontal, Instagram and TikTok are vertical.
  • Tell it which part of the song to use. The part with the most energy usually works best, starting just before a drop.
  • Balance the song and the effects so neither drowns the other out.
  • Once you like the cover, ask Claude to keep it in every new version.
  • Give the text room to breathe. Every word should be easy to read, with a soft, slow bounce as it lands.
  • Ask for the list of sound cues and cut any sound that doesn't match a move on screen.

Find ideas on Prompt Motion

Prompt Motion is a collection of motion videos made with Claude Opus 5.5, each with the prompt or skill behind it. You can filter by style, like product UI, charts, phone screens, kinetic type or music.

Watch a few, copy the prompt behind the one you like, then change it to fit your app and your taste. Add the rules from my second prompt so the text and sounds come out clean.

Before you post

  • A commercial song can get your video muted or taken down on X, so keep the sound-effects-only version ready.
  • Learn the creator's techniques and make the look your own. Don't post a copy of their work.
